Data we do NOT collect

Technical data (non-personal)

Our website is a static page served without server-side logging. We do not record server access logs containing IP addresses. The only technical data processed is a session token stored in your browser's sessionStorage for the purpose of maintaining your admin login session (if applicable), which is automatically deleted when you close the browser tab.

3. How and why we use your data

We use your personal data solely for the following purposes:

  1. Early access programme management — to contact you when Nerve becomes available, provide product updates, and grant access to beta hardware and software.
  2. Market research and validation — to understand demand in the robotics market and prioritise product features. This analysis is performed in aggregate and not used to make automated decisions about you individually.
  3. Direct communication — to send you relevant product news, technical updates, and pricing information. You may unsubscribe at any time by replying to any of our emails with the word "unsubscribe".

We will never use your data for: third-party advertising, selling or renting to other companies, automated profiling or decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, or any purpose other than those stated above.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 6, we rely on the following legal bases:

Processing activityLegal basis (GDPR Art. 6)
Storing sign-up form data locally and using it for early access outreach Art. 6(1)(a) — Consent. You freely provide this information by submitting the form. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Product updates and direct marketing communications Art. 6(1)(a) — Consent obtained at sign-up, combined with Art. 6(1)(f) — Legitimate interests (informing prospective customers about relevant product developments).
Aggregate market research Art. 6(1)(f) — Legitimate interests in understanding and developing the market for our products, balanced against your rights (data is used only in anonymised aggregate form for this purpose).

You have the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

5. How we store your data

The Nerve early access website is a client-side only static site. When you submit the sign-up form, your data is stored in your browser's localStorage — a storage mechanism built into your own device. This data does not leave your device automatically.

This means your sign-up data is saved in your own browser, on your own device. Only the person with access to the Nerve admin dashboard (Lodi Robotics) — which requires a separate login — can view this data from the same browser environment.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures consistent with Article 32 GDPR to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorised disclosure, including:

The only third-party service loaded by this website is Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which loads typeface files. Google's privacy policy applies to this service. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law:

DataRetention period
Early access sign-up dataUntil the Nerve product launches publicly, or until you request deletion — whichever is earlier. Maximum 36 months from sign-up date.
Marketing communications consentUntil you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
Browser session token (admin)Deleted automatically when the browser tab/window is closed (sessionStorage).

You may request deletion of your data at any time — see Section 7 for your rights.

7. Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights under GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and, where applicable, the UK GDPR:

📋 Right of Access (Art. 15)

Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, including purposes, categories, and recipients.

✏️ Right to Rectification (Art. 16)

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data without undue delay.

🗑️ Right to Erasure (Art. 17)

Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten") where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.

⏸️ Right to Restriction (Art. 18)

Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances, e.g. while accuracy is contested.

📦 Right to Portability (Art. 20)

Receive your data in a structured, commonly-used machine-readable format (e.g. CSV or JSON) and transmit it to another controller.

🚫 Right to Object (Art. 21)

8. California residents — CCPA rights

Shine the Light (California Civil Code § 1798.83): We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

9. International data transfers

As described in Section 5, personal data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage on your device and is not transferred to Lodi Robotics servers or any cloud infrastructure. There is therefore no international transfer of personal data in the traditional sense.

The exception is the loading of Google Fonts assets from Google's CDN servers, which may involve your browser making requests to Google servers that could be located in various countries. We rely on Google's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as the legal mechanism for this transfer. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for details.

Should we introduce server-side data processing in the future, we will update this policy accordingly and provide you with advance notice.
